Charity

In 2007 across all our Parks and centrally at Head Office Haven team members and guests raised nearly £250k for a number of charities with the emphasis on those helping children and families. Charities Haven are supporting in 2008 are: NSPCC, Children’s Trust in Tadworth, Surrey, Jeans for Genes, Children in Need, RNLI, Tommys, the Air Ambulance Association, Family Holiday Association, Motability and we continue with our pro-active links with the Wildlife Trust.

The Children's Trust

Run for The Children's Trust

The Children's Trust are the Official Charity for the 2009 London Marathon. We have just launched a 'One in a Thousand' appeal to recruit a record-breaking target of 1,000 runners to join our team in 2009 to enable us to help more children with disabilities around the UK. We have lots of guaranteed places. Guaranteed places will be offered when the London Marathon ballot closes. Please note that for a guaranteed place you will need to commit to raise a minimum sponsorship amount of £1,500. www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/londonmarathon

We are asking everyone first of all to apply for a ballot place as we will be overwhelmed with requests for guaranteed places. Ballot applications for the London Marathon are online at www.london-marathon.co.uk. We will remind everyone who's applied for one of our guaranteed places to enter the London Marathon ballot - that way we can get to our target of 1,000 runners! When you register, remember to select that you would like to run for The Children's Trust.

Jeans for Genes

Jeans For Genes

Team Members actively support Jeans for Genes, both at the company’s Head Office and at all the Parks - where holidaymakers are encouraged to get involved.  In 2007 they raised £17,000 on behalf of the charity.

Everyone has around 30,000 genes but, if one is faulty or missing, a genetic disorder could result. In the UK, one baby in every 33 is born with a genetic disorder or birth defect.

The overall total raised by Bourne Leisure for the charity is £95,000 which will help transform the lives of affected children and give many families hope for the future.

Jeans for Genes is a fun national appeal to raise funds for pioneering research into genetic disorders and to provide valuable support services for affected individuals and their families.
